ZAK Downtown- Downtown Delinquents (Mixtape)

 

Before today, I had heard of ZAK Downtown but never actually but the headphones on and listened to him. Thats exactly what I did with this mixtape and was very impressed. The NYC native's sound is something that I think will be included a lot in the party scene. The electronic beats are very well done, and I have to say the production was great. Headed by DJ Fresh District, the beats are very impressive. Listen to "clap your hands" and "bad man's world" to get a sense of the style of the production. Also, Hoodie Allen is featured on "Rock the Show".  I think this is a very good showing for ZAK and I have to say I really enjoyed the tape and I really like the direction that ZAK is going. Revenge of the NErds- The Evolution of Genre (EP)

I am very pleased to be able to present to you REVENGE OF THE NERDS. They are affiliates of Frank Ocean and they just released their first EP entitled "The Evolution of Genre". With music, a good first impression is very important to me. I have to love what I hear to really buy in. This EP blew my mind. The sound is so smooth and I promise you will enjoy it. Listen to my favorite song off the EP called Wonder wall and see for yourself..These guys will blow up and I have to say this is an outstanding album.

Throwback Thursday: Kid Cudi- Man on the Moon (The Anthem)

I think 2008 is throwback enough. "Man on the Moon(The Anthem)" was released on the "A KID NAMED CUDI" mixtape, and has remained on of my favorite Kid Cudi songs. This has a very chill and relaxed feel and I'm sure most of you have heard it, I just wanted you guys to wake up to a classic Cudi song on throwback thursday. Big Gigantic- Nocturnal

Big Gigantic never fails to impress me. They simply create sounds that take you to a different level and that is exactly what this site is about. "Nocturnal" is song off their free album also called "Nocturnal", set to come out January 11th. I will be introducing Big Gigantic soon with an artist review but take this song as a little preview. The Dean's List- Unbelievers

I know I am a little late on this song. It's been on the internet for about 10 days now, but it had to be posted. I had to introduce everyone, if they did not know them already, to The Dean's List, the hip-hop trio from Boston, Mass. This group blew up after their release of "The Drive In", which will be ranked shortly under my TOP 25 MIXTAPES section. "Unbelievers" is a new track with more of an electronic feel to it. The beat is so intense and they continue to improve their sound. It is unlike anything else in the music world today. Dive right into their music, you wont be disappointed.

Mt. Eden- The Memories (feat. QuEst)

Quest is an artist who has no boundaries it seems. He keeps coming out with fresh ideas, including the one in this case where he teams up with Mt. Eden. The Memories is a great track with some great lyrics and it just has  an interesting feel to it. Check it out and enjoy.

Gerald Walker- It's Christmastime Again (MIXTAPE)

I spend a lot of time each day surfing the web for mixtapes that go under the radar. I was very excited when I found this tape because I knew it would be perfect to post. I dont know about you guys but I love the Holday Season, and I don't think there is a better early Christmas gift than Walker's tape. "Christmas Everyday" is probably my favorite track off it, but Gerald is swaggin on every beat so download the mixtape and enjoy. Ground Up- Romantic Comedy (MIXTAPE)

Yes, this is my first post here on T.M.A. and this mini mixtape really starts it off with a bang. Romantic Comedy is a way to thank their very loyal fans. The group's fan base has really grown after they released "The Get Down", which was a huge success. The 7 track mixtape is very well done and all I have to say is that these guys flow. I haven't run across another group that flows as well as they do together. The contrast between the voices is what makes this group great. Not to mention every beat they have ever made is sick. Heres the tracklist: 

"Boulevard" is a great track. I heard this song about a week ago and knew the tape would be fresh."One Chance" is another chill song will some serious flow. "Yesterday" was another song that jumped out at me. Overall it was a great tape and I know we are all looking forward to more from this group.
