You know what...I like this guy. He can rap. And he gets some quality assistance from some great artists including: Wiz Khalifa, J. Cole, Big Sean, Pusha T, Jim Jones, and more. The production is solid and I promise you will enjoy this 9 song tape. Big things from this guy in the future mark my word. I posted a couple of my favorites below along with the entire tape.
This is a great summer song. I know were in the middle of winter and Christmas is less than 2 weeks away, but let this song put you in that summer mood. Windoview teams up with Lines Drawn Divide to give us "Insecure", a completely chilled out song with a little of everything. It combines a little rapping with a bunch of great instrumentals. I am very privileged to have been introduced to Mazon, a hip-hop artist from Harrisburg, PA. I wanted to show everyone his talents by posting his track entitled "Fine Linen". Mazon goes hard on this track and shows off some impressive flow. The production is solid as well. I am under the impression that this track will be on his upcoming project. More info will be posted regarding the project as soon as I am updated. I am very excited about the future of Mazon and there is definitely more to come from this artist. Dare I say it: a chill skrillex track. Sounds like perfection to me. Skrillex gives us "breathe", a chilled out, electronic, slow track that blew my mind. I might be a little late posting this but it simply needed to go up. This will definitely put you in a good mood.
Steve Aoki's new album entitled Wonderland is coming out shortly. To give us a little preview, he drops "Cudi the Kid", where he features Cudi and Travis Barker in an epic dubstep/electro/house track. More to come from this artist.
Gotta love some quality remixes. I was searching around and ran into a couple great ones by Sex Ray Vision, a production group out of Stanford. The first is called Open Your Eyes, and it transforms the classic Snow Patrol track into a club banger. It took the song to another level and I loved what I heard. Turn Up the Love featured a variety of hit artists including Cobra Starship, Alesso, Kid Cudi, and David Guetta among a few others. I know you will enjoy these two remixes. The LA rapper comes out with an extremely fresh track. "Letter to Myself" had me hooked from the beginning and it isn't hard to tell this guy is extremely talented. His forthcoming mixtape, Building Skies, is going to drop anytime now so look out for that. For now enjoy the track.
It's funny. This is a perfect track for me right now. Enough said. The bottom line is that everyone on this track kills it. The verses are great and the hook by Grace Kelly is very well done. This is simply a great track. Props to Dylan for his verse. It blew my mind. Download below.
I love finding groups that I know will be successful in the future. I think this is one of those groups. From the campus of USC, Y LUV gives us "Keep it Rollin". These are the songs that really get me. This is a great chill hip-hop track from the rap trio Split Second. On this track they sample "Same as the Sun Comes Up" by Jesse Cole. The hook is extremely catchy, and Xcel and J Jaxx do their thing on the verses. This is a must download for those who cant get enough chill hip-hop. Download below and enjoy! I am very picky when it comes to mashups, in particular entire mashup albums. But after hearing only a couple songs from #BASSMOB, I was hooked. 5 & A Dime is aDJ, Mash-Up Artist, and Producer from the Philadelphia area. In this album, he focused more on heavy bass and dubstep, and targeted many of today's hit songs. His music is brilliantly crafted and it keeps you wanting more. If you're looking for a solid party playlist, just put on this album and let it play all the way through. This is an 11 song mashup masterpiece. Enjoy!
First of all, I hope you guys enjoyed Fireside Cuts. If you have not downloaded it I strongly recommend that you go do that. Second, I found a great track by Isiah & Hovey, a rap duo from Richmond, Virginia. It's called "Smoke Signals" and is powered by a chill piano beat. Some of my favorite rap songs start with a little keyboard and allow the flow to take over the song. That's what Isiah does on this track. I was pretty impressed so I posted 2 links below, the new song and an older cut called "Descent". Enjoy!
The time is here! I've been at work all day and I am very proud to present my first tape: Fireside Cuts. A lot of thought went into this project. Winter is naturally a season where you have a little more time to relax and think. This tape is very personal to me. These are tracks that have meant a lot to me throughout my years, but interestingly enough, all of them have made an impact during this season. The goal of this site is to allow you, through music, to be taken to a place where you feel your best. It doesn't matter if you're in Southern California in the winter, like me, or on the east coast with snow all around you. Music can take you wherever you want to go. And the goal of this mix was to find a "winter feel" and I think I succeeded. I think this will really show you guys how well-rounded this site will be in the future. From Sufjan Stevens to Kid Cudi, there is something for everyone. So sit back, relax, grab a cup of coffee, or whatever you like to drink, and enjoy Fireside Cuts.
Completely out of nowhere, Lupe drops "American Terrorist III" via twitter. If you're thinking the same thing I was, you're probably wondering where the second installment is...not to worry. It is said to be on Food & Liquor 2, Fiasco's next piece of work. This is really a great track and I have to say I like the direction Lupe's music is headed. Check it below, you wont be disappointed.
